- 2004, Steven M. Fassberg, the founder, chairman and CEO of Brooklyn Water Enterprises Inc.™, starts working on the development of a real New York water bagel that could be made anywhere in the world.
- 2006, Fassberg conceives franchise model, menu items, operating procedures and food delivery systems.
- 2008, Fassberg hires professionals to begin drafting franchise documents and registering for protection of intellectual properties.
- 2009, Fassberg opens the first Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co.® restaurant in Delray Beach, Florida.
- 2010, Michael D’Angelo, a former Brooklyn firefighter and Sept. 11 first responder, signs on as the franchise’s first Development Agent, acquiring rights to Palm Beach County, Florida.
- 2011, D’Angelo opens the system’s first franchise in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida
- Restaurant #1 and #2 far exceed expectations – a testament to the company’s superior products.
- 2011, the company opens six new locations – including the restaurant that broadcasting legend, Larry King in conjunction with corporate opened in Beverly Hills, California.
- 2012, 11 operating units, 7 under construction as the company continues to perfect its operating model to prepare for rapid expansion.
- 2012, The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. has awarded territory development rights in Palm Beach, Dade, Broward, Orange Counties in South Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, Baltimore, Maryland, California, Massachusetts and North Carolina.
